How To Go Gray…and love it! New e-book
Calling all women with graying hair. If you’re over the age of 45 that’s most likely you… whether you use hair dye to cover your gray hair or not! Are you finding that the more gray hair you have the more resources it takes to hide it? More trips to the salon… and the bank?
A lot of women have had enough.
Many of us are tired of spending so much time, energy and money touching up our roots, yet don’t have a clue about how to make the switch from hair dye to no dye. Some of us are secretly wondering how we might look with gray hair – but are afraid of what others might think. Some worry that they won’t be considered attractive, lovable or relevant. Many of us have had enough of hiding our gray hair and are ready to discover what’s underneath all that hair dye, but just don’t know how to take the first step.
So many women have asked me how to go gray that I thought it was time to put together an answer. The result: an e-book titled “How To Go Gray… and love it!“ As a bonus, there are stories of and photo links to over a dozen Silver Sages who have already taken the plunge… because it’s helpful to have inspiration on this journey, don’t you think? This book addresses the practical how to’s of going gray and encourages women to confront the inner voices of doom that keep us stuck in fear and inaction. These voices simply represent our past programming and are not true!
Don’t own an e-book reader? Not to worry. You can download a Kindle e-book to your computer or smart phone! You don’t need to own a Kindle Reader (or Nook or iPad) to purchase an e-book. I was delighted to find out that I could download a free Kindle app to my computer (which took all of 5 minutes) and voila! – within minutes I had downloaded my first e-book (which was about how to publish an e-book on Kindle, don’t cha know)
If you are looking to go gray, please check out How To Go Gray… and love it! Join the ranks of Silver Sages by sharing your “after” story and photo and become an inspiration to the thousands of women who are still wondering… Should I? Could I? How do I?
The material in How To Go Gray… and love it! is adapted and expanded from AMAZING GRAYS – A Woman’s Guide to Making the Next 50 the BEST 50 (regardless of your hair color!) While we will all eventually become Amazing Grays, not all of us choose to become Silver Sages. That’s the beauty of being a woman – we always have a choice!

Yes! Just what we needed. Those of us who would rather NOT become slaves to hair dyes or whose hair, like mine doesn’t take coloring well needed some inspiriation to go gray gracefully. I, myself have been gray for most of my life, having begun the transition when I was the ripe “old” age of 14. Until now, I had more gray hair than my mother who at 84 when she passed away was still only salt and pepper. At the age of 54, my hair is now pretty much white and I do everything I can to enhance the color because people find it interesting and comment about it all of the time. What a breath of fresh air this book is and just in time for my sister who is self conscious about her hair graying to be able to read it. If even young people are deliberately dyeing their hair gray, there must be something we who are naturally gray or like me have white hair have going for them if its become trendy to have gray hair. I love this!

I just started your book last night and I’m almost half-way done! I’m really enjoying it and find your information very practical. I’ve been going gray for a few years, starting at my neckline and working my way up to get used to the look. I’m only coloring the crown of my head now, trying creative ways to work in non-colored areas on the crown. Many people find it “cool” while others can’t believe I’m actually doing it. I can’t wait until the process is complete!

Hi Sherry – Thanks for your comments. It’s rather empowering to experiment with different ways to “go gray”, don’t you agree? It seems to bring up different emotions in each of us as we find a way to express our authentic selves. Good for you for taking the plunge!
Would you be so kind to go to the site where you purchased the eBook and write a short review? Women keep telling me they love the book, but no one has put their comments on Amazon or B & N yet! It really helps other women make a decision on whether the eBook is for them or not, and I have to say I love hearing about how the book is helping you go gray.

This book SAVED me. I had been on the color train for about 30 years – I began to see the “silver” when I was 19. The coloring was fun at first – I tried light brown, red, blonde and all shades of highlights. It all looked sexy and fun until it became a “chore” at about 40 years old. That’s when I began to say “if I could go gray naturally, I would”. I turned 50 this year and had unexpected surgery in March. Followed by even more unexpected complications afterward, I was left with no desire, no time and definately no motivation to color my hair. I began looking at the ONLY reason I was coloring. It was vanity, pure and simple. That’s when I realized that my vanity wasn’t worth it. I talked to my fiance and he was THRILLED with my desire to “go natural”. While I was recovering at home, my roots began rather earnestly and I had the “white skunk” line. I was met with comments from women such as “I can’t believe you are letting yourself go” “don’t go gray, it will age you” “why would you DO that to yourself”. Then it hit me. This was not MY prejudice because I knew that my hair did not define me. Especially after a health scare that lasted 12 weeks. I went to my stylist and told her the words she’d been wanting to hear…”Corinna, cut my hair as short as yours”. After she lobbed off about 12 inches of unhealthy colored mess, I was met with a beautiful white mane of about 1 1/2 inches. With still a lot of Pepper thrown in. I had forgotten how dark my “childhood” hair had been. I was THRILLED with the result. I got married shortly after I cut my hair and those that attended my wedding were shocked to say the least. But, pleasantly so, as now they could see the face that had been hiding behind that crazy, curly mop. And, I’m pleasantly surprised by the men that think I’m a “hot chick”. My husband loves that! I still have to double take when I look in the mirror sometimes, but I LOVE IT!!! It’s the new Julie – the one that has a lot of living to do. I have let myself go….go to the authentic me. I feel great. Wouldn’t change a thing, wish I had the courage to do this 10 years ago.
